Why does the image I uploaded appear black?

The image appears black because the original has a transparent background. Usually this happens with .gif or .png images.

To prevent this, first edit the original image by replacing the background or by filling it with a color. Alternatively, you can also save the image in .jpg format first, which also solves the problem.
